DSTools - Active Directory tools for Systems Administrators

DSTools is a collection of tools for systems administrators, aimed specifically at Microsoft Active Directory systems, and other related technologies. The suite of products will be available as a bundle once finished, and each product from the suite will be available separately.

The products which currently make up DSTools are as follows:

Directory Service Studio

DsStudio is an application which allows you to manage your Active Directory domain from a single consistent interface. Some of the features of DsStudio include:

Automatic display showing which computers are turned on and which are not.
Inventory tools, including collection of hardware and software information, computer serial numbers and more. Includes license compliance tools.
Computer monitoring for changes to installed software and hardware.
Manipulate remote resources including services, the registry, shares, the event viewer, and so on.
Create and manipulate user accounts.
A number of agent tools to run centrally which can monitor computer event logs for problems, auto-analyze crash dumps, maintain a database of computers which are turned on, and more.

User Creation Wizard

User Creation Wizard is a tool which allows the creation of one or more Active Directory user accounts, pulling data from CSV files or databases if necessary. A summary of features:

Generate usernames and password automatically based on patterns, character sets or Python scripts
Detect and correct duplicate usernames automatically
Place users in specific organizational units and security groups.
Set profile path, logon script and home directory for created users, and create and secure home directories automatically.
Extend User Creation Wizard by using its API to develop new data source readers.
